Opn Ancient Storm
20th-22nd October
Unit Expo on Foot

Friday's starting point was Mellieha and we hiked it to a secret location along the Dwejra lines were we stayed the night undetected by the people who crowded the area on Saturday morning.

Our bivvies kept us warm even though the temperature was pretty cold outside!

The morning's yomp took us from Dwejra to Buskett were we had a Resup point- here we cooked fresh Lampuki SVS style.

Cooking Lampuki in Buskett - we shared one Lampuka between two people. Delicious!

The idea of cooking this delicious meal came form the fdact that Corrieri and James don't really like fish, at all. In fact it kind of disgusts them. Since it was the only thing to eat & after loads of coaxing they finally ate some, and guess what? They liked it! Of course they liked it - look at it it's mouthwatering!

Saturday evening saw an afternoons tabbing to Wied Babu were we spent the night cooking, feasting and eventually sleeping. In the morning we hiked to Tas-Silg were we all met Capt Bob for the first time.
Along the way we stopped for various photo opportunities!
Hagar Qim - The Unit is discussing the temples of Hagar Qim and Mnajdra as part of the theme of the EXPO.
Capt Bob is a cool priest that usually goes by the name of Fr Robert Galea. He served mass for us and then we even had time to chat with him before the van took came to take us home.
Kapella tas-Silg, the final destination, and the home of Capt Bob
This Expo had a historical theme so along the route we visted many historical sites such as: the Selmun Battery, Mistra Battery, Hgar Qim, Mnajdra, Tas-Silg Battery, Fort St Lucian.
It was on B.A. weekend!
