OPN Dead Rat - N-Coy Training Camp

The N-Coy training camp was held at Villa Landa last weekend (24th-26th August). During this activity the recruits got a chance to practice the scouting skills which they learnt at HQ during instructions, work as a team during various command tasks & Medevac situations and also learnt to keep their quarters squaky clean, SVS style.

Dive & BBQ

Yesterday afternoon we went diving in Mellieha during which we spotted and played with various sea creatures including starfish, sea cucumbers and a rare & mysterious eel-type being who we named Roger.

The dive lasted about 30 minutes and we went as far down as 6.5 metres. Photos were taken using an underwater camera so until they're developed and scanned they will probably not e posted here!

Me doing all the cooking, even though i prefer my meat en bleu.

After the dive we headed to pembroke for a BBQ. Which turned into quite a party. Debono got his guitar, tambourine and shaker & we jammed the night away. We were all completely stuffed by the end of the evening - thats the sign of a succesful BBQ!!!

The N-coy training camp is to be held next weekend- duyring this activity the Recruits will get the opportunity to practice the skills that they've learnt at HQ & it will include a night navigation exercise.

Back from the Jamboree!

Hi everyone we're back from the Jamboree and already back to our Unit programme which is kind of overflowing at the moment!

I'm not going to post much about the Jamboree since I think Timmy & Kevin's blogs covered that quite aptly. You can check them out at http://www.ssg-wsj07.blogspot.com/ & http://www.sliemascouts.net/ respectively.

Members of Malta Troop 1 including (left to right) Bernard 'Money' (SAC), our very own James, Corrine (B'Bugia) & Cindy Lee (Tarxien)

On Thursday we (Malta Troop 1) met up for a meal at TGI as a little farewell to each other.
Nico trying to drink his coke using loads of straws...wasn't so succesful but the extremely long straw we built seemed to work for a while
