Tunnel Rat Op

Today the Unit went potholing (or spelunking) in two manmade holes

in Buskett. The first set of tunnels seems to have been made by water services to give access to the pipes running underground.

The second hole was quite a bit different! The entry point was very narrow but then it opened up into a very long tunnel with loads of mud. It seems like this tunnel was made during the time of the knights as an escape route for Verdala castle. The tunnel doesn't reach the castle (but well past the castle gates!) though because it becomes blocked by soil.

What a way to kick of '08 ---- we're guna have a full year of Adventure!

Next activity should be a fire & cooking to be held in february with the B'Kara Venture Scouts.
